[MILANO] - CORIO, Bernardino (1459-1519 ca.) - L'Historia di Milano volgarmente scritta. Venice: Giorgio de' Cavalli, 1565. Third edition of this important work about the history of Milan, which appeared for the first time in 1503. 4to (202 x 139mm). Title with printer's device depicting an elephant with a tower on its back with motto "Tarde sed tuto", initials and woodcut headpieces (title reinforced with loss at bottom margin, final leaves restored with some wear and lightly cropped, some wear to top corner of first and final leaves, few occasional minor stains and some light browning, small marginal wormtrack at pp. 573-591, 643-655 and touching final lines of 659-669). Modern vellum, manuscript title on spine, top edge pink, preserved within case. Provenance: Emilio De Marchi Gherini (stamp).
