[?Italy or Balkans, 17th or 18th century] (315 x 3050mm). 5 membranes, square Sephardic script with coronets, in black ink, 15 columns of text (each approximately 235 x 155mm.), 24 lines per column, each column within delicately painted borders of flowers, in pink, white, red, blue and green, including tulips, roses, lilies and convolvulus, initial cartouche showing a bird in a cherry tree. (Some surface wear to decoration, especially at beginning, a few later alterations and tracings to text, short split between second and third membranes due to weak stitching, edges occasionally slightly frayed, not affecting text.) Cloth tie stitched to start of first membrane.
