MEDIEVAL SWORD WITH MAKER'S MARK Early 15th century AD A forge-welded iron sword with lentoid-section two-edged blade; s-curved quillons with convex ends, long flat-section tang with segmented round maker's mark, square pommel with raised disc to each broad face; to one face of the blade, a brass-inlaid sigil of a cross with branched ends within a circle, to the other face a profile human bust with some brass inlay detailing. 1.2 kg, 98cm (38 1/2").
