including: 28 letters, nearly all Autograph Letters signed “James” to Kate Searle ( one or two Typed Letters signed ), c. 30 Autograph Postcards signed and Christmas cards signed “James” & sometimes “Clarissa” to Kate Searle, numerous pp., some envelopes, California, Corseaux Switzerland & elsewhere, v.s., warm and affectionate correspondence many illustrated with pen and ink drawings , “Am making a film called Marriage-go-round [1959]. Enjoyable, and there are some good funny bits. A rather sombre little actress called Susan Hayward plays opposite me but her shortcomings are made up for by a gigantic amusing blonde [Julie Newmar] who plays the other woman...”, folds ; and a small quantity of others including a signed presentation copy of Mason’s autobiography, Before I Forget, 1981, typescript of an article, an early memoir with covering letter from Nova Magazine, film scripts of The Pumpkin Eater, screenplay by Harold Pinter, 1963, Georgy Girl 1965, The Blue Max 1965 & Chekhov’s The Seagull, 1968, many with manuscript corrections etc., v.s., v.d., 1950s - 1984
