Consists of Alphabetical index 25 pages, and page 1-214 (about 70 pages blank), more blank pages at end. Contemporary brown calf, worn, mended, old spine damaged and laid down on new leather. All edges gilt. Contains recipes for dying and preserving (including for Westphalian ham), cordials, cheeses and desserts. The medical recipes include such as "Weapon Salve", which calls for "moss of a dead man's seul," "one ounce and a half of mummy," "man's blood." and "man's grease"; a recipe for an "Oyl for deafness" which requires the burying alive of an eel in a hot horse dunghill; and remedy which needs two sheep hearts.
