A fascinating 8° volume containing printed material written by or about the members of the society, interspersed with Brewster's ironic annotations, members' signatures and pen-and-ink portraits, and interesting printed curiosa, including four hand-coloured plates accompanying Brewster's 'chivalric poem', 'The Lumber Trooper', and a self-portrait by 'Peter Huston, Printer', executed "with a common printer's bodkin on the back of his cardplate". Contemporary half morocco (spine and corners worn); and , an album (175 x 220mm) containing original sketches by H.M. Brock, Fred Buchanan ( Fun , The Graphic , Strand ) and Thomas Henry -- a watercolour head and shoulders sketch of RICHMAL CROMPTON'S WILLIAM holding a snowball, captioned 'More snow coming!' -- and others, along with signed photographs of Elsa Lanchester, Jack Buchanan, Hermione Baddeley and others, and the autographs of Tallulah Bankhead, pianist Harriet Cohen and others. with [LYTTON, Edward Bulwer (1803-73)].
