London: Emery Walker Ltd, for Cranach Press, 1927. 2 o (330 x 255 mm). Woodcut initials, 43 woodcuts by Maillol in text. Grey cloth-backed boards. Provenance : acquired from Zucher, 1977. LIMITED EDITION, number 48 of 225 copies printed on hand-made paper. The English edition of the Eclogues was commissioned by Count Harry Kessler, and admirer and patron of Maillol. Maillol "designed and cut on wood the forty-three illustrations, during the years 1912-1914 and in 1925, at Banyuls in the Pyrenees." A German edition was published at Weimar in 1925.
