One of Kurtzman's best covers, anticipating the Underground ethos 14 years before Zap Comix #1. Bill Gaines parody (selling comic to boy). "It was a relatively short step from MAD to... the 'underground comix' created a decade later by a mad generation. In Dan O'Neill's Air Pirates Comics [sic] for instance, Disney characters were swept through the muck, f*cking and cheating and swearing... while R.
