Title printed in Hebrew and Spanish. 18th-century Dutch olive morocco, covers gilt with gilt double fillet border floral tool in each corner and gilt central urne upper cover dated N ANNO 5554, lower cover gilt lettered PREMIO DE ABY YETOMIM, spine richly gilt in five compartments, red morocco lettering piece in one, gilt and gauffered edges, two silver clasps and catch plates. Provenance : purchased from Harry A. Levinson, Beverly Hills, 13 April 1972. Edition of the prayers and blessings for the entire year, including relevant laws and commentaries, according to the Sephardic rite, edited by Benjamin Senior Godines, with separately paginated additions and with an unpaginated Calendario Perpetuo and Tabla de Guia para el Canlendario . Included are a Haggadah for Passover, with a recipe for Haroset, prayers for martyrs, instructions on constructing a Mikvah and an index of blessings. The Spanish translation of the benedictions was produced by the Sephardic benefactor Issac de Matatiah Aboab, and most likely printed by David de Castro Tartas. The binding is one of the few that were produced by the Society Aby Yetomim for their Honorary Presidents.
