Modern half calf, spines gilt, uncut. FIRST COMPLETE EDITION, with the second part a second edition, of "one of the most beautiful microscopical works issued during the XVIII. century" (Sotheran). The author is perhaps best known for popularizing the microscope as a tool for both serious scientific research and amateur observation of the natural world.
