Innys, 1731. 2 volumes, 8°. 2 engraved frontispieces, folding engraved map, plan, and 27 plates (some leaves lightly browned, occasional light mainly marginal spotting and staining). Modern mottled calf, spines gilt. Provenance : A. Will, Grahamstown (stamp on title of vol. II). FIRST EDITION IN ENGLISH. Mendelssohn I, 844-845: 'it contains the earliest list of South African animals, and there is a full account of the government of the country, with detailed descriptions of the various settlements, and a mass of information respecting the habits and customs of the native races'.
