As a coll., w.a.f. * George Plunkett was the son of Count Plunkett and a brother of Joseph Mary Plunkett signatory of The Proclamation. In July 1922, he was the subject of 'habeas corpus' proceedings which led to the dissolution of the Dail Supreme Court by the Free State Government, and consequently the resignation of George Gavan Duffy, Minister for Foreign Affairs.
