Jim Thorpe Archive Including Signed Movie Contract, Citizenship Letter, Marriage Certificate, Divorce Decree and More This group of documents spans milestones in Jim Thorpe’s career, personal life and American Indian heritage. Included is the original citizenship letter from December 15, 1916 from the Superintendent Department of Interior to Thorpe granting the Native American his 160 acre “trust property”; a contract for play and movie dated May 27, 1920 and fully signed by James Thorpe (a 10); the Final Divorce Decree and Property Settlement Agreement between Thorpe and his first wife Iva dated April 17, 1925; the original Marriage Certificate from New York City between Thorpe and Freeda Kirkpatrick dated October 25, 1925, said marriage being witnessed by one John J. Mara, one of the owners of the New York Giants National Football League franchise, the team Thorpe played for that year but had been recently been released from; two telegrams of a personal nature; a court document signed by Thore; a 1928 handwritten letter to Thorpe by his brother Frank; a Thorpe handsigned Mecca Club membership club card; Orchard Hills CC unsigned card; typewritten letter from JW Diebler dated Feb. 14th inviting Thorpe and his sons to the Antelope Club.
