Early 19th-century red straight-grained morocco, gilt spine, gilt and blindstamped border round sides, gilt edges (rebacked with original spine preserved, covers lightly scuffed). Provenance : prize binding with gilt inscription to John Macauley, 1817, on lower cover and gilt supra-libros on upper cover of the Trustees of the Rugby Charity. Hoffmann II, p.231. HERODOTUS.
