First Edition in book form, first issue? Appears to be the first issue, with internal points: p. 60, line 10, has comma rather than full stop after "her" and p. 265, line 21, has no quotes at beginning of line, etc. The binding issue was on the lower portion of the original cloth spine, of which this a re-bound copy. Still an attractive and handsomely bound first edition copy. One of only two Dickens novels that were not illustrated on their first appearance. Sadleir 689; Smith Vol.I, 11. Lot Amendments Condition: Slight darkening and foxing to contents, internally very good or better in a fine leather binding. Item number: 166323
