The present drawing is very close in technique and style to two drawings by the artist held in the British Museum, Esther before Ahasuerus, and Scene from the Book of Esther (nos. 1975,0517.1 and 1975,0517.2), both featuring the same broad use of the pen, and elongated, elegant figures within an architectural setting.
