Grafton, Richard Graftons abridgement of the chronicles of Englande, newely corrected and augmented, to thys present yere of our Lord 1572. [London: Richard Tottell, 1572] 8vo (141 x 90mm.), woodcut initials, woodcut illustration on Ee5v, later blind-tooled calf, lacking final leaf with colophon, occasional light staining, small stain on I1, small tear in R1, joints weak, spine chipped A pocket edition of Grafton's famous chronicle, based on John Harding's fifteenth-century text, brought up to the present day and with an almanach added at the end. The first pocket edition appeared in 1562-1563, printed by Grafton's son-in-law, Richard Tottel, containing a detailed of the accession of Elizabeth I.
