The Latin translation most probably was the work of the Dutch Neo-Latin poet Nicolaus Grudius (Everardi, 1504-1570), treasurer of the Order. With copies of the two engraved plates by Cornelis Galle (1576-1650), i.a. the collar of the Order with the Burgundian device "Ante ferit quam flamma micet" ("The flint is sent before to yield fire - Il frappe avant que la flamme ne brille" - the flint-stones represent the ancient arms of the sovereigns of Burgundy).
