An extraordinary, very small and exceptionally fine 18K two colour gold keyless pivoted detent chronometer watch with gold three-bridge movement and one-minute tourbillon regulator, probably made for exhibition, one of only three known miniature examples ever produced Signed Girard-Perregaux, La Chaux-de-Fonds, the tourbillon made by Ernest Guinand, circa 1876-77, three-bridge movement completed circa 1885, cased circa 1920 Movement: 14’’’, manual, 19 jewels, the upper jewels in gold chatons, patented three parallel gold bridges, pillar plate and going barrel finely damascened on both sides, gold wheel train, Ernest Guinand second type one-minute tourbillon cage with pivoted detent escapement, 21,600 frequency, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring with amplitude limiting device, signed Dial: Off-white enamel, by Porret, inscribed ‘Tourbillon by Ernest Guinand’, signed Case: Three-piece, engine-turned, gold bezels, pendant and bow, white gold band, 37 mm. diam.
