It includes papers and extracts gathered together under various headings: Geography; Antarctic climate; The Aurora; Geology; Instructions for collecting rocks and minerals; Zoology; Botany; Arctic sledge-travelling, etc. The Geography section includes the first printing of the Journal of John Biscoe, the probable discoverer of the Antarctic continent.
