George III Mahogany Tea Caddy Late 18th century Of rectangular form, with a banded hinged top opening to reveal a plain interior; Together with a Rosewood Tea Caddy and a Mother-of-Pearl Inlaid Rosewood Box. Height of first 5 1/2 inches (14 cm), width 10 3/8 inches (26.4 cm), depth 8 inches (20.3 cm).
George III Mahogany Tea Caddy: Some lifting of veneer at edges. Horizontal crack to hinge. Wear to interior. Replaced locks. Old marks, scratches and wear. Rosewood Tea Caddy: Edges with veneer loss. Infilling at two corners. Veneer repair to top band approximately 1/4 inch. Age crack near hinge on back side. Chips to bottom corners. Old marks, scratches and wear. Mother of Pearl Box: Base split. Splitting to interior under lock plate. Age cracks to top, including one horizontal crack measuring approximately six inches and one crack on side measuring approximately four inches. Edges with veneer loss. Top with small water stains. Old marks, scratches and wear.
