Jay Haynes as the official photographer for the Northern Pacific Railroad and Yellowstone National Park, based in Fargo, DT. Ca 1880s. A large, impressive portrait of Curley (ca 1856-1923), the Crow scout for General Custer and one of the few US Army survivors of the Battle of Little Bighorn. Housed in original, wooden frame, 13.5 x 17.5 in. Condition: Mounted to heavy board, with few light stains along perimeter, few visible in top right and left corners, as well as along top edge. Few very light surface abrasions. Very small chips in top right and left edges.
