HODDESDON, John. Sion and Parnassus, or Epigrams on Severall Texts of the Old and New Testament , London: by R. Daniel for G. Eversden, 1650. 8°, engraved portrait frontispiece (occasional light spotting and waterstaining, final blank defective), contemporary calf gilt (a little worn), the recto of the frontispiece inscribed, "Lucy Smith. My book which I give unto Elizabeth Roberts to keep in remembrance of me, 1691." Wing H2295. Contains a commendatory poem by John Dryden, his second appearance in print. With 7 other books including Arthur Brett's Patientia Victrix, or the Book of Job in Lyrick Verse , (London, 1661) and A Commentarie of Master Doctor Martin Luther upon the Epistle of S. Paul to the Galathians (London, 1635). (9)
