Gaetano Pesce Deutsch: Kinetisches Lichtobjekt/ Prototyp. Um 1979/1980. Metall, matt schwarz lackiert, Glas, verschiedenfarbige Leuchtdioden. 50 x 50 x 6 cm. Elektrifiziert. Durch die verschiedenen Leuchtdioden leuchtet das Objekt ununterbrochen in verschiedenen Farben. Provenienz: Das vorliegende Exemplar ist der Prototyp eines im Auftrag von Cassina bei Flos entwickelten Lichtobjekts, das jedoch nicht in Produktion ging. Insgesamt wurden damals zwei Prototypen gefertigt, ein Exemplar erhielt Gaetano Pesce das andere, vorliegende, blieb bei Flos. Das aktuelle Stück stammt aus dem Besitz des ehemaligen Geschäftsführers Deutschland der Firma Flos Hans-Rüdiger Bruckmann, der dieses Objekt Anfang der 1980er Jahre in der Entwicklungsabteilung von Flos in Italien entdeckte und dort als Geschenk erhielt. Zu dem Zeitpunkt stand fest, dass das Objekt nicht in die Produktion aufgenommen werden sollte, da es eher ein künstlerisches Multiple als eine Leuchte sei. Basis für diesen Entwurf ist eine von Gaetano 1963 entworfene größere Arbeit Proiezione Dinamica. English: Kinetic light object / prototype. Around 1979/1980. Provenance: The present example is the prototype of a light object developed by Flos on behalf of Cassina, which, however, did not go into production. A total of two prototypes were made at the time, one of which Gaetano Pesce received, the other, the present one, remained with Flos. The current piece comes from the possession of the former managing director of the Flos company, Hans-Rüdiger Bruckmann, who discovered this object in the early 1980s in the development department of Flos in Italy and received it there as a gift. At that point it was clear that the object should not be included in production, as it was more of an artistic multiple than a lamp. The basis for this design is a larger work named 'Proiezione Dinamica' designed by Gaetano in 1963.
