Envelope sent by Knizak to Deelstra, text verso reads Love Aktual! Love Flux!. Contains the publication Paper Bird. New York, Fluxus, 1967. Text by Knizak and scores by Friedman. Xeroxed performance documentation. 10 stapled pp, 28 x 21.5 cm.
+ 10 coloured flyers featuring 4 events by Friedman and Knizak. + Announcement for Obtizny Obrad /Difficult Ceremony by Knizak on January 18th 1969 at 134 Greene Street in New York. B/w Xerox, 32.5 x 22 cm. Some browning on bottom, small wear on top edge. Seminal rare item. + Added: Letter to the president of the Czech Socialist Republic by Allan Kaprow August 28 1972. Contains a petition to grant amnesty to Milan Knizak, 'the leading representative of the Happenings-movement in Eastern Europe'. Milan Knizak (1940-) is a Czech performance artist, musician, dissident and founder of the Aktual artist group. In 1965 Maciunas promoted him to Director Fluxus East after which he organized the Fluxus concert in Prague. From 1968 to 1970 he gained a visum for the USA and participated in various New York Fluxus happenings.
