FLORENCE NIGHTINGALE (1820-1910) Autograph letter, in pencil, signed 'F. Nightingale', from 10 South St., April 10 [18]97, 'Easter Day', 1pp, integral blank leaf, 8, to Mrs Sutherland 'Dearest ever dearest friend', wishing her Easter greetings and enquiring after Dr Sutherland (creased on folds), with original envelope. Autograph letter, in pencil, signed 'your old F', from 10 South St., March 9 [18]87, 3pp, 8, to Mrs Sutherland 'Dearest ever dearest friend', 'I am so grieved that you are so poorly and suffering', she blames herself for exacerbating her friends illness for allowing her to leave without a cab, wishes she was nearer 'I think of our 30 years of friendship and thank God'. She will send her a little book and sends regards to Dr Sutherland (creased on folds), with original envelope. A two-page French Visa, printed with manuscript insertions, signed 'John Sutherland', dated 24 October 1827 and countersigned by the French ambassador, framed and glazed. (5)
