After the success of MAD, every comics publisher tried their own version of a satire comic with a one-word title, and this was Harvey's. Flip was a cut above most of the MAD imitators, due to the artwork of Howard Nostrand, who expertly aped Jack Davis and Wally Wood. Nevertheless, Harvey was no Kurtzman, and Flip flopped, lasting only two issues.
