(England) English Civil War pamphlet collection Date Published: Bulk 1642-1661 Description: 74 pamphlets. Each approximately 19x15 cm (8x6"), some in morocco-backed boards but most without wrappers. The pamphlets published during the English Civil War testify to the great turmoil and incredible pace at which the conflict embroiled England during the mid-17th century. This collection of legal, polemical, and satirical tracts includes exceedingly rare items by figures such as William Prynne, tracts such as Laud's Funeral Speech, the impeachment articles for Thomas Gardiner, notable forgeries, and other items representing both sides of the conflict.
