Elvis Presley A black star sapphire and diamond ring designed and worn by Elvis Presley during his final tour in 1977. The central rectangular plaque, bezel-set with four black star sapphires, with circular-cut diamonds at the cardinal points and center, to the tapered textured gold band, enhanced by circular-cut diamond. The ring was created by Memphis jeweler Lowell Hays, with explicit design instructions by The King. During the tour, Presley reportedly knocked a stone loose, and set it back to Hays for repair. Presley passed away in the meantime, and the ring was subsequently placed as the prize a 1978 contest sponsored by The National Enquirer . Accompanied by documentation regarding the rings provenance, and a newspaper image of Presley wearing the ring on stage.
