Late 19th-century green morocco gilt, top edges gilt, turn-ins stamp signed by Zaehnsdorf (light darkening to spines). Provenance : Phoenix Ingraham (bookplate). FIRST EDITION, in original parts lavishly EXTRA ILLUSTRATED. Dickens's letter, 21 November 1858, is a supper invitation to "Elliston." "The husband of that Lady whom I mesmerised in Geneva(?) long ago, and whose case is so very remarkable, is in town for a few days.
