Informative land classification map detailing the extensive property, divided into "Good agricultural land with improvements"; "Good pasture and agricultural land"; "Rough undeveloped land"; "Agricultural land high state of cultivation"; etc. The "decreed water" over a span of fifty years is shown, as well as water storage capacity. No copies are listed in OCLC. The Antelope Valley Land & Cattle Company was established by William Moffat, born in 1875, the son of Henry Moffat, who came to San Francisco in 1854. In 1893 William ventured to Nevada to purchase cattle for the San Francisco market. In 1902 he moved to Reno, where he resided. He purchased the home and stock farm formerly owned by ex-Governor John Sparks in 1911. Moffatt was engaged in the cattle and sheep industry of Nevada and California, and owned many companies worked in both states. In 1910 Moffat bought the Antelope Valley holding’s of Thomas B. Rickey, Nevada pioneer, Senator, banker, former miner, cattler, and landowner. Rickey was one of the largest land and cattle owner in Nevada and California. The Antelope Valley land was converted by irrigation into a fine alfalfa and stock ranch. After this purchase, Moffatt formed the Antelope Valley Land & Cattel Company of Dougals Co. and Mono Co., Ca. Lot Amendments Condition: Old folds, a short tear at top edge; very good.
