Description: A WW2 and later medal group, plus other military related items relating to 3189289 W.O. Class 2. F.D.Parker King’s Own Scottish Borderers, later Royal Scots. To include: a trio of medals comprising of The Defence Medal, The 1939-45 War Medal, and a QEII Long Service & Good Conduct Medal, the latter named to 3189289 W.O. CL 2. F.D.Parker Royal Scots. Plus, a silver topped swagger stick, with badge to the top for the King’s Own Scottish Borderers. With silver collar (hallmarked for Birmingham 1938) that is engraved 3189289 L/Cpl Parker E - 11.2.39 - Gallipoli Squad The ‘E’ Parker appears to be erroneous, as all other items to relating to this service number are for Frederick Dennis Parker There is also a a WW2 or later Royal Scots car grill or bonnet mascot, made in chromed metal with enamel backing details, various military paperwork relating to F.D. Parker’s service, a chrome cigarette case engraved ‘FP’, and lighter engraved F.Parker, and 7 volumes of the Pictorial History of the War, by Walter Hutchinson. 1 box. Notes: Frederick Dennis Parker was born in 1911, and enlisted in 1938 in the King’s Own Scottish Borderers. He finally discharged in August 1958 after just over 20 years of service. His medal entitlement is confirmed by his service book, which indicates that he would appear to have remained in the U.K. throughout the WW2 era (likely as a Staff Instructor). Post war he served as part of the British Army on the Rhine for 2 years. Generally good condition to each piece. The medals are swing mounted for wear and show normal service wear. The ebonised swagger stick has a little wear to the painted surface, and ther are a few small dents to silver ball top. The car badge has some wear to the enamel painted backing, but is otherwise good. All other items have light wear and tear commensurate with age and use.
