DAISY MAKEIG-JONES FOR WEDGWOOD a fine and exceptionally rare 'Leaping Chamois' lustre imperial large bowl, circa 1925, the exterior decorated with a band of leaping antelope in orange, red and blue, against a mother-of-pearl lustre ground and between 'Persian-Celtic' bands at the rim and foot, interior with mother-of-pearl lustre ground with bulls with oxpeckers on their backs in blue and orange scrolled cusped panels with red/black birds, central well with Rhages pattern faun within Armargh pattern knotwork circle, gilt rim, Portland vase mark, 23cms diam x 10.4cms high Provenance: private collection West Wales Auctioneer's Note: pattern confusingly called 'Leaping Chamois' despite the antelopes being clearly Oryx.
