CRAM, George F., Indianapolis, mid 20th-Century CRAM'S UNIVERSAL TERRSTRIAL GLOBE Made by THE GEORGE F. CRAM CO. INDIANAPOLIS INDIANA A 30.5cm. diameter terrestrial table globe, made up of two sets of twelve chromolithographed gores laid on two card hemispheres, the equatorial lacking applied strip graduated in degrees and hours, the Greenwich meridian and equinoctial colure graduated in degrees but unlabelled, the ecliptic graduated in days of the month and of the houses of the Zodiac with sigils, the oceans coloured black and showing an analemma, steamship routes with ports of arrival and departure and distance in nautical miles, the continents with nation states variously and brightly coloured and showing towns, cities, rivers, mountains, swamps and railway lines ( slight separation to part of equator, some minor wrinkling ), with ( later ) stamped brass meridian circle and horizon ring supported on two graduated quadrant supports held aloft by a kneeling robed bronze figure of Atlas, on a turned and stepped marble plinth base 62cm. high See colour illustration
