Lithographed cotton souvenir apron celebrating the Cotton Centenary of 1790-1890, with a repeating pattern of red, white, and blue stripes, with stars in each stripe, overlayed with a medallion portrait of Samuel Slater, and a medallion with an image of the Old Slater Mill, both within laurel garlands, image of Pawtucket at time of production below with American flags on either side. Approx. 24 in. wide x 33 in. long. Samuel Slater established the first factory for spinning yarn in the United States in 1790, and later perfected spinning machinery. Condition: Some light toning to apron; some light, scattered spotting.
