Linn (partially excised and erased signatures); Catherine A. Linn (signatures). FIRST AMERICAN EDITION. A FINE FAMILY COPY OF THIS CLASSIC LEATHERSTOCKING NOVEL. D. Linn has signed the front free-endpaper of each volume (partially torn away in volume two), Catherine A. Linn has signed each volume on the recto of the first blank and the title-page in each volume and again on the first page of text in volume two. Cooper's grandson James Fenimore Cooper married into the Linn family in 1891. With the Fagan-Ashmead imprint on the verso of each title-page. BAL 3895; Sabin 16430. (2)
