[between March and October 1919], 2 pages, 4to, with folds, on Conrad's letterhead imprinted with his former address of Capel House Orlestone, and embossed with his temporary address of Spring Grove, Wye (the Conrads stayed there from March to October 1919): "...Galsworthys are coming on the 9th for the day. On Friday we are going to Essex to see the Hopes [Mr. and Mrs. G.F.W. Hope] and we shall be back on Monday early to receive Miss [Harriet] Capes who is coming for a couple of days. I write you all this in view of the Vernon visit [Vernon was a producer interested in having Conrad dramatize The Secret Agent ]. Miss Hallowes [Conrad's secretary] will be back about the 20th. I should like to begin something then and, for preference, the play ; should V. [Vernon] be at all encouraging."
