.36 caliber, 7.5" octagonal barrel, S/N 65916 (mfg. ca 1857). Blued and color case hardened finish, silver plated small brass triggerguard, back strap and grip strap, one-piece varnished walnut grip. Single action, 6-shot percussion revolver. Matching numbers throughout with the exception of the unmarked wedge. Grip numbered 5916 in ink in the backstrap groove. Standard one-line New York barrel address, frame with two-line Colt's Patent mark. Wedge screw replaced. Condition: Good. Retains some blue on the barrel in the web area and some traces of silver on the brass. Barrel has been cleaned, leaving some marks and shows scattered surface oxidation that is more severe near the muzzle. Markings clear, cylinder scene mostly visible. Mechanically functional, fair bore with heavy oxidation and moderate pitting. Safety pins mostly intact with one missing and two battered. Grip with much of the varnish, showing some wear and loss and scattered handling marks.
