Issued for Bergez-Frank’s Inc. Old Poodle Dog, a combination of three renowned restaurants: Bergez Restaurant, Old Poodle Dog, and Frank’s Rotisserie. Includes various wines and other beverages offered. 8vo. Printed by Louis Roesch, 1908. * White ceramic cigar holder with hand-painted illustrations. Bottom lettered “Hotel Department, Chas. Brown & Sons, San Francisco.” Approx. 1¾ tall, 4 long and 1½ wide, with hollowed area for cigar. * Printed card for Mrs. L. Bergez Jacques of 1995 Geary St. 2x3. Together, 5 items. Scarce items from the famous Poodle Dog restaurant of San Francisco. The original “Poodle Dog” restaurant was located at Dupont and Washington Streets in San Francisco, established in 1849. It later moved to Bush and Grant (formerly Dupont) and in 1898 a new and larger one was built at Mason and Ellis. In 1906, the original and the 1898 buildings were destroyed and later rebuilt in 1908-09 at Bush Street and called Bergez-Frank’s Old Poodle Dog.
