Title: Collection of 44 Rock Posters for performances at the Avalon Ballroom, Fillmore Auditorium and other venues in San Francisco in the late 1960's Author: ** Place: San Francisco Publisher: Date: Late 1960's Description: Color posters, most approx. 22x14. Nearly all appear to be first printings. Superb collection of vintage posters from the golden age of the San Francisco music scene, when Bill Graham Presents and Family Dog promoted the bands that were synonymous with the counterculture of the era. The present collection is particularly choice for the astounding condition - they were gathered by an employee tasked with placing the posters in appropriate venues, and he saved an example of each for himself. Only two have pinholes in the corners - the others are entirely unscathed. Among the many examples: B.B. King, Moby Grape, Steve Miller Band at Fillmore Auditorium, Feb. 26, 1967, drawn by John H. Myers; The Chambers Brothers, The Sunshine Company, Segel-Schwall Band, at Fillmore Auditorium, Jan. 11, 1968, drawn by Bonnie MacLean; The Blues Project, at Matrix (San Francisco), Feb. 13, 1967, the artist, Victor Moscoso; Chuck Berry, Eric Burdon & The Animals at Fillmore Auditorium, June 27, 1967, drawn by Greg Irons; Eric Burdon & The Animals, Mother Earth, etc., at Fillmore Auditorium, Oct. 19, 1967, drawn by Bonnie MacLean; and many others. Lot Amendments Condition: Two with pinholes in corners, else all in fine condition. Item number: 185360
