(Philippines) Collection of 38 original bird's-eye view photographs of the Philippines Author: U.S. Army Air Corps Place Published: Ft. Santiago, Manila, Philippines Publisher: U.S. Army Air Corps Date Published: c.1926-1933 Description: Vintage sepia-tone silver photographs. Captioned, dated, and with identification numbers in the negatives. Images approx. 17x22 cm (6¾x8¾"), corner mounted loose to black paper leaves in two modern half morocco & decorative boards albums, measuring 12x15". Marvelous aerial survey of the Philippine Islands in the 1920s and 1930s, with views of the towns, cities, ports, countryside, and military establishments. Each captioned and dated in the negative, with a series of numbers apparently designating a certain sector or locality. On the back of one is a large rubberstamp, "Official photograph 6th photo section, Air Corps, U.S. Army. Do not publish without authority of Asst. Chief of Staff G-2, Hdqrs., Philippine Dept., Fort Santiago, Manila. When published following credit line must be used: 'Official Photograph - U.S. Army Air Corps'." Images comprise: 1. 1933.
