Title: Collection of 3 printing press / printing equipment items Author: ** Place: Publisher: Date: [c.1900] Description: Comprises: Original turn-of-the-century iron printing press, believed to be a Kelsey Mercury Model Excelsior (no manufacturer name located). 3½x6 iron table-top platen press with depressible gripper and ink rolling pinwheel (which is somewhat bent). Approximately 14" tall (plus handle crank) and 10x10" wide, painted black, with original color decorations. Needs new roller and some work done to it. * A miter tool with movable handle and adjustable lining up device (looks like a sun-dial). Iron and wooden base. Approx. 6" tall and 17" from longest points side to side. * And an iron type cutter on wooden base. Embossed lettering: “Golding Mfg. Co., Franklin, Mass.” Used to cut lead typeface pieces. Approx. 13x14" and cutter board extends to a total of 22". Together, 3 items. All appear to be in or close to working order, each needs some level of expert care and restoration work. Excellent examples from an earlier time in print production; perfect for a display.
