THE RARE PUBLISHER'S PROSPECTUS OR SALESMAN'S DUMMY FOR THE FIRST AMERICAN EDITION, consisting of preliminary leaves, selections from the text, and three binding samples mounted on inside front cover, sheets at end of subscribers' names and orders (and publisher's advertisements?) removed -- Samuel Langhorne Clemens. N.p., n.d. [Probably Worcester, Mass., 1916]. 8-page leaflet, 2 leaves loose. FIRST EDITION, one of apparently between 30 and 75 copies printed on paper watermarked "Mark Twain" (a few copies were also issued on paper watermarked "Clemens"). BAL 3521 -- A Boy's Adventure (The Whipping Boy's Story). [New York, 1928]. 4-page leaflet. FIRST EDITION. BAL 3545 -- The Invalid's Story. Berkeley, Cal.: The F., B. & F. Printing Co., 1903. 12mo, original plain wrappers. First Separate Edition, Copy No. 2 of an edition of 20 copies, the text apparently from "Some Rambling Notes of an Idle Excursion" in The Stolen White Elephant. Not in BAL; See Johnson/ Twain , p. 228. RARE -- [CLEMENS]. Marsh's Manual of Reformed Phonetic Short-Hand. San Francisco, 1868. Original cloth, a bit spotted, a few holes in the front outer joint; in a half morocco slipcase with a rebound copy of the 1884 second edition. FIRST EDITION, variant without inserted ads at front. Contains Twain's piece "Woman" in shorthand on p. 79. BAL 3314.
