Veterans in particular who have already served, may enlist in General Winfield Scott Hancock's corps: “Lookout for another draft! Fortunes made by Volunteering! Liberal Bounties are offered to Volunteers, in anticipation of an early draft of men “to reinforce the Union armies. The officers of Southbridge give notice that Liberal Bounties are offered to Volunteers,” these include a call for $20,000 for Winfield Scott Hancock’s Veterans Wanted (Winfield Scott Hancock 1824 – 1886). The bounties available are carefully laid out, and range from $100 to $1,000. Those wishing to enlist are told to report to the Selectmen of Southbridge.
