THREE VOLUMES OF COMPANY RECORDS. 3 folio ledger books for the 41st Illinois Infantry Regiment, Company K, 15 ½ by 11 inches, bound in original rough suede with morocco corners and labels, light wear internally, boards worn and corners bumped. A comprehensive set of records for one of the most storied regiments of the Union army. Includes: 1. Company Morning Reports. Company K, August 1861 to August 1864, 108 pp, under the command of Colonel Isaac Pugh, most entries in the hand of Henry A. Inyan or Thomas Kelly Each report includes a complete census of troops present and provides brief descriptions of company movements and skirmishes. 2. General Order Book of the 41st Illinois Infantry, 112 pp, March 2, 1863 to July 15, 1864, being complete records of the General and Special Orders issued by commanding officers, including Generals WT. Sherman, U.S. Grant, McPherson, Crocker, Pugh, and others. 3. Descriptive Book of the 41st Illinois Infantry, 40 pp, being a descriptive roster of the commissioned and non-commissioned officers, privates, surgeons, musicians, and others mustered into Companies A through K. Each record lists name, age, height, complexion, eye color, place of birth, occupation, enlistment location, and term of service. The 41st Illinois took part in the battles of Cumberland, Shiloh, the sieges of Corinth & Vicksburg, Haines Bluff, and the disastrous altercation at Pearl River. They also took part in the battles of Guntown and Altoona, the siege of Atlanta and the March to the Sea. See illustration.
