oil on canvasunframed: 58.9 x 76.4 cm.; 23⅛ x 30⅛ in.framed: 77.4 x 95.9 cm.; 30½ x 37¾ in.Condition reportThe canvas has an old lining, the paint surface is quite dirty and the varnish is quite discoloured. There is a small loss, 1cm. big, lower right. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals some small areas of retouching in the upper right, lower right, and lower left corners. The still life itself appears to be relatively untouched, and there is just a small area of strengthening in the centre of the blue tablecloth. In overall good condition, which will benefit from cleaning.

Meijer for his assistance in the cataloguing of this lot, for comparing some of the handling of the still life here to that found in the work of Alexander Coosemans  circa 1650, and for drawing attention to a painting bearing the signature of the now-debunked artist, David Davidsz. de Heem sold at Beurret Bailly Widmer Auktionen AG, Basel, 6 April 2022, lot 67, which appears to be by the same hand.
