For the surprisingly modest sum of $2,000 Churchill grants American producer Jack Le Vien exclusive rights to adapt his six volume history of World War II for the big screen. The result was a retelling of Churchill's life story through a mixture of documentary footage with Orson Welles narrating, and dramatic reenactments. Le Vien would go on to make a series of documentaries and biographical dramas based on Churchill's life.
