Group of twelve gelatin silver prints each on a card mount, images 4 3/8 x 6 1/8 inches (11 x 15.5 cm) or the reverse, signed (l.r.) and titled (l.l.) in pencil, printed before 1948 (the date at which these were given, based on two accompanying letters from Major V. F. Meisling of the American Consulate General, Peiping, i.e. Beijing). Slight toning from the mounting adhesive at one edge of the image, overall images and mounts very clean. Images of the Summer Palace, the Forbidden City, the Temple of Heaven etc. The greatest holding of these images in the US is at the Harvard-Yenching Library, which holds some 5,000 photographs and 10,000 negatives taken by Morrison while resident in Beijing from 1933 to 1946.
