Inf.); Defence Medal, and miniature Order of St John, edge bruising and contact marks, otherwise nearly very fine (5) £400-500 Footnote Alexander Gordon Moorhead was appointed Ensign in the 26th Foot on 26 May 1822; Lieutenant, 3 December 1825; Captain Half-Pay, 3 March 1848. He served throughout the war in China as Sub-assistant Commissary-General, and was present at Chusan, the Bogue Forts, operations before Canton, at Amoy, Chusan, Ningpo - and sortie in defence, Chapoo, Woosung, Shanghae, Chin Kiang Foo and Nankin.
