COS D'ESTOURNEL Château Cos d'Estournel is named after its 19th century owner, Louis-Gaspard d'Estournel. The word "Cos" derives from Gascogne tongue, meaning "hill of pebbles". In 1917 the property was purchased by Fernand Ginestet, whose daughter Arlette married into the Prats family which is how the Château came into the hands of Bruno Prats who managed Cos d'Estournel until 1998 when it was sold to the Taillan Group. His son Jean-Guillaume-Prats has stayed on as general manager. In 2000 the estate was bought by Michel Reybier, and since 2004 the technical director has been Dominique Arangoits. Château Cos-d'Estournel--Vintage 1995 Saint-Estèphe, 2me cru classé Both lots in original wooden cases Parcel: lots 127-128 "lovely rich velvety colour; broad, tea-like, gingery nose; rich, 'tobacco' spice. 'Fresh, with good balance of sugar and acidity'. Finally noted at the MW tasting and once again noting its sweet, too mocha nose and taste. An American taste? Last noted Nov 1999 ***(*) 2005-2015 ."
